This Past Month

This was taken November 4th, but it's just so cute.  Connor played hard at the playground that morning and he was adjusting to the double whammy of changing time zones and daylight savings.

After our trip to the zoo, I decided to cut Connor's hair.  I was a little over zealous and cut it short, but it's grown out well.  Connor's sleep was off, and he didn't fall asleep until 4:45.  We woke him up at 5:30 and this is how we found him.  Passed out in the middle of playing.
Going out to Daddy's company holiday lunch.
Baby in the leaves.
"Hey brother!"
"Help Mommy!"
We took some fun family pictures for our Christmas card.  Connor was very happy to hold Eamon, but not so happy to not be jumping on the bed, disturbing our tenuous blanket background.
The Monday before Thanksgiving, our friends Jerod and Britni came to town for the day and we went to cut our Christmas trees down together.  The farm wasn't even open (oops on me!) but they let us cut our trees down anyhow.  We accidentally didn't return the saws he lent us so we had to return when we left town the next day.
Connor likes to talk about how he is with Jerod in this picture.
Eamon slept through most of this, and so did
Connor!  He fell asleep on the way there and
just stayed asleep for and hour and a half.
This is right after Parker told me
Connor is his best friend.
Cute boy with a Christmas package!
Our friend Sierra sharing some chips!
Eamon is so smily and sweet.  We all love him so much.  Connor is always giving him hugs and smiling at him.  In turn, he adores all of us and gets so excited when Patrick and Connor pay attention to him.
Our beautiful Christmas tree!
Patrick's company has a great Christmas party every year that has a raffle for cash prizes, good food, and a great Santa with presents that the company buys for each child specifically.  This year, I knew that Connor was going to freak out if we put him on Santa's lap and I couldn't wait.  I think the crying Santa pictures are hilarious.  Connor did not disappoint!  And the Santa was totally great.
We bribed Connor into going to the
party with chocolate cake.
Connor hadn't been acting right since he got sick over Thanksgiving, but I thought he just needed some time.  Patrick left for a 5 day trip on Monday and I prepared to weather the storm.  Sarah came on Tuesday night and after seeing how off Connor was acting (no appetite, hitting, throwing things, low pain tolerance, short fuse emotionally, exhausted) convinced me to go to the doctor.  We went on Wednesday and discovered he had an ear infection.  So we started him on amoxicillin.  Then I noticed both the boys had running noses.  By the time Patrick got home on Friday, both of their colds were in full swing.

"It's hard to stay awake when there's
a snoring baby on your chest."
Over the weekend, Eamon kept coughing to the point of gagging and throwing up, so Monday morning I took him to the doctor and he had a double ear infection.  So he also got put on antibiotics!
Connor was still off.  I called to get a refill on Eamon's prescription because he had thrown up so much of it, and talked to the nurse about the rash Connor was developing.  She got me to stop the antibiotics in case he was allergic.
It got worse than this.
Sweet sick boy.
Connor has seemed to get better since stopping the antibiotics.  He still doesn't have an appetite, but his attitude is a ton better and he's not exhausted anymore.

We've had a lot of fun moments over all of this sickness, including Eamon being utterly charming, and Connor being a great big brother and helper.
Eamon is in love with his own reflection in
the forward facing camera on my phone.
Sweet big brother.
Sick baby falling asleep on the couch.
Eamon found his toes!  This was right as he did it for the first time.
Don't tell brother I tried on his new boots
before he gets them for Christmas!

Thanksgiving

This past month has been full of sick little boys and a busy mama.  First I'll post about Thanksgiving, then about the rest of the past 4 weeks.

Our trip to Chattanooga started out pretty rough.  We had to stop twice for errands to Costco and to drop off the saws we inadvertently took after cutting down our Christmas tree at the Christmas tree farm.  We were relieved to be at Mom's that night!

Wednesday we had fun catching up with Myers and Laura and Connor went on the trampoline.  A lot.
This picture is from the one time I went with him.
Kitchen candid!
Game time!
Myers brought his guitar, which he is learning to play via video game.  Connor was smitten.  He asked to play the guitar every time Myers brought it out.
"So... C Minor, 1st Position..."
Arthur & his Mama
Arthur & his Uncle Henry (just kidding Will!)
Eamon & his Nana
Boy cousins!
Connor got a stomach virus and wouldn't eat
anything but candy.  He would barely eat that either.
He ate that lollipop for 3 days.
Eamon & Aunt Sassy!
Thanks for being sweet to your cousin, Lillian!
Still working on that lollipop.
"Relax, Dad. I know what I'm doing."
Friday after Thanksgiving, the kids in my generation went out together (with Eamon).  We went to Sarah's job at the Pool Place and picked her up then went to Foodworks to get appetizers and desserts.
Fun and delicious!
That night we watched The Hobbit together as a family.  Connor watched the beginning with us and seemed to like it!
The next day, Patrick and I woke up with Connor's stomach bug.  Poor Patrick got it bad.  We were both grateful to have Mom, Myers and Laura to take care of our boys.
I told you he spent days on that lollipop!
"Whatcha watching?"
Looking at photo books.
Sani with our boys!
