First Tooth

As any parent can tell you, teeth are a hard-won piece of the body.  Babies (and their parents) suffer through weeks and months of pain, drool, sometimes fevers, sleeplessness, and mucus-y poop to get those little pearlies out of their gums and into the light of day.  We were so proud when Connor's first tooth popped up last week, but we're still battling to get the rest of them out.

It is so sad for me for Connor to be in pain, but we're figuring out different ways to help him feel better, like using Hyland's teething tablets, giving him lots of teething toys, and making sure he gets lots of rest and eats a lot.

The other day I finally felt like it had been pushed up enough to try and capture in a picture.  Let's see if y'all can see it!  Plus some bonus shots of Connor's beautiful face.

Halloween Party!

I decided this year that I wanted to bring all my friends with babies or who are pregnant together for a Halloween party! I love throwing parties and bringing people together.

We invited our friends, and Connor's godparents, Dana and Matthew, who are due in January and April and David, who are due in May/June but they weren't able to come.  We also invited our friends Matt and Erica and their 2 year old Emma, but Emma was not happy to be around so many new people and decided she needed to go home after about 45 minutes, so we don't have any pictures of her.  She was dressed as Blueberry from Strawberry Shortcake.

The people who did make it were: Britni and Jerod with their sons Parker and Porter, our friends from high school Leslie and Kevin who came down for the whole weekend with their daughter Ella, and our friends Trey and Holly who are expecting in late May.

Connor did not drink any beer I promise!
He thought it was really fun to hold the bottles though.

 Looks drunk doesn't he?

Outside

With the change in the weather, Connor and I have been spending more time outside. A couple weeks ago I discovered Connor is perfectly content to sit by himself for up to half an hour in the backyard just taking it all in.

All geared up to go out on a chilly day.

With Connor teething, there are some days he wants me to hold him all the time, and I don't get him to sit out alone, but I know that a lot of days it's his favorite time (besides when Dad plays with him which will always be number 1!)

Giddy Up!

I got home from work one day (a couple of weeks ago) and was surprised to find a package for Connor. Connor's first package! It turned out to be from Connor's Aunt Jenny! It had a really nice card and a few gifts in it, chief among them: Rody!

The Red Racing Rody sits off to the right because he is the leader.

My next-door neighbor has an air compressor, so it only took a few seconds to inflate the Rody so that we could let Connor try it out (fun fact about the Rody: it supports up to 400 pounds!). Connor loves it!

Connor likes to chew on Rody's ears and pat his head. Whenever Connor is fussy, Rody usually calms him down!

Thanks Aunt Jenny!

I just went Boom!

This just in: Connor fell over (no biggie), and Becca, doing Connor's voice for him, said, "I just went boom, Mommy!" Connor found it hysterical, so she repeated it as long as he found it funny, and we did have the sense to pick up the video camera before the opportunity ran out.

Thanks for the laughs, little guy!

So we do have stories to tell and pictures and videos to post, but we've been a little slack lately. I've been sick since Wednesday-ish, but I'm getting better. Hopefully Becca isn't catching it.

So... more posts soon!

5 Months!

My little boy is 5 months old!  He sits up by himself all the time and gets better at it every day.  At this point the only reason he falls over his because he reaches too far for something or he gets bored and lays back or forward.

I love taking pictures, especially of children, and of course Connor is my favorite subject!  There's not really anyone to take pictures of us together, but I found a place in my house I can take timer pictures of us.  They're fun because they're always ALMOST great.  But that's just pictures of babies, right?
