Sitting Up!
We've been testing Connor to see whether he could sit on his own. Every time we tried he would promptly fall over from lack of balance. Until last night! Patrick was playing with him on our bed while I was cleaning up from dinner. Patrick called me in the room and ran out to get the video camera to film our precious little boy sitting up on his own.
Today I took pictures of him being super cute!

Aunt Jessica's Shower
Last weekend we went home to Chattnooga to go to Patrick's sister Jessica's baby shower! Connor's first boy cousin is going to be born sometime at the end of November or beginning of December. We're so excited for Aunt Jessica and Uncle Matt!

Special Daddy
From before he was born, Connor has really loved his dad. He would wake up when he heard Patrick talking and kick me to let us know he loves his daddy. Connor's always happy to hear his dad's voice over speaker phone and when he comes home from work. One of my favorite moments was when Patrick came home, walked directly over to Connor, picked him up and said, "I love being a dad."
Melt my heart!

I think I'm turning into one of those blogger moms who updates three times in one day every 2 weeks, which is not really what I want, but hey, what can I do, right? Gotta take care of my boys!
First our post what I started about a week ago and lost. Connor went to the doctor 13 days after his last visit for shots. They weighed him again and he was 18 lbs 1 oz! That's a gain of 14 ounces in 13 days! I knew he had been through a growth spurt because a couple days he slept extra long during his day times naps and I actually predicted he was over 18 pounds because he seemed so much heavier.
We also had to bump him up to his 3-6 months clothes during the time between doctor's visits. He's still growing so fast I don't know how much longer he'll be in that size!
My mom also visited in that stretch and I somehow took no pictures. She realized that Connor was almost ready to sit on his own, so we started sitting him with the Boppy as support and balance.

Clearly I can't get enough of his laughing face.

Growing So Fast!
Becca and I have been amazed how much Connor has grown and changed, just in the past couple of weeks! He is very close to sitting up on his own, he actively goes after toys, and he really seems to be expressing his opinion a lot more lately! We're having a lot of fun with him!
This weekend, Soni came to visit and to take a test she needed to pass as a step toward licensure as a counselor... and she did pass! We're really proud of her! She also offered to watch Connor while Becca and I went out, so we got to go out by ourselves together for (I think) the third time since Connor was born.
Here are a couple of great videos where Connor is being his happy self:
This is tiring, but it's worth it to get that little guy to laugh!
This was a favorite moment from Aunt Sarah's visit. I think Connor laughs more for her than for anyone but his parents!
Pretty soon, Connor is going to be sitting up on his own, and maybe even crawling! Time to start getting the house Connor-proofed!

Doctor Visit and "Cold" Weather
Connor had his four month doctor's visit today! He was supposed to get some shots, but his temperature was a tiny bit high (99.2) so just in case he was starting to get sick, they deferred them to next week when we can be sure his immune system isn't compromised.
Connor weighed 17 lbs, 3 oz and is 26 inches long! That means he's gained nearly 10 lbs and grown 5 inches since he was born. He's in the 90% for weight, and the 75% for height and head circumference.
It has been down right chilly this week thanks to Tropical Storm Lee. I am excited because Connor is at the tail end of being able to wear his 0-3 months, and I had a bunch of cold weather outfits he has been able to wear yet. I've been enjoying the "new" clothes.
Connor has been really enjoying sitting up. Some times he fusses until he's allowed to just sit one his own and play with his toys.

How hilarious is his face?
Visits
Last week Patrick's room mate Kato came to visit from Japan to see us, our friends Jerod, Britni, and Jason, and visit some graduate schools. We had fun visiting and going out to eat together. It was just like old, pre-marriage times! Kato also brought us some Japanese treats, and a good luck charm from a Buddhist temple.
Last weekend my sister Sarah came to visit since he had Labor Day off. Connor loves Aunt Sassy!
Kato kept saying, "He's so white!"
