Halloween Party!

This year we had our second annual friends-with-babies-or-expecting-babies Halloween party!  It's fun to have people over who are (mostly) in the same place of life as we are.

Patrick and I are big fans of using real clothes plus some accessories to make costumes.  I mean, this year we bought clothes for Connor's outfit, but he'll be able to keep wearing those clothes.  And I had a ton of fun making his accessories!  This year our sweet boy, with his beautiful blond curls, was a little hobbit!  I sewed fake fur onto his flip-flops and made him a cape, the pattern of which is based on the cloak the Fellowship is given by Galadriel in Lothlorien.

Furry feet.
Britni and Jerod came with Parker and Porter and their awesome costumes!  Porter was the old man from the movie "Up," and Parker was a hot air balloon-man!
A bunch of other friends came over too, but I only have pictures of David and his sweet cupcake Evie. After that point, it got a little more hectic and hard to take pictures and be hosts!  We had another pair of brothers who are 2 and 3 months who came as Thor (toddler) and the Hulk (very chunky baby).  So precious!  We also had an expecting couple, Mark and Tami, who dressed up as a leprechaun and a rainbow with the pot of gold on her belly.

Trip to Tate Farms with the Wootens

On Friday afternoon the Jemisons and the Wootens went to Tate Family Farms together.  It was really packed, but there was plenty of room for us to have fun!
Before Patrick joined us from work.

Somehow, Jerod ended up with all three boy
On the hay ride.
So cute!
The hay ride went to a pumpkin patch where we picked out pumpkins to carve.
Connor found a rock!

We attempted some family pictures with some mixed results.

Laura's Wedding

October 18th to the 21st, Patrick, Connor and I drove through the the beautiful Smokie mountains to go to Greensboro, NC for our friend Laura's wedding!  Laura was one of my best friends from college.  I can't believe we've known each other for almost 10 years!  God blessed us all so much when He brought us together: Laura, Katie, Heidi, and Becca, Fun Team forever!

We stayed in a Hyatt Place hotel and I really like it!  The room was big and had a nice seating area.  There was a nice nook for us to put Connor's brand new sleep tent.

Thursday night I went to dinner with a bunch of girls (except Heidi) at Macaroni Grill, came back to put Connor to bed and left Patrick to sit silently in the room with him to go to Laura's lingerie shower.  The man is a saint.  It was even his birthday!

The next day was Laura's bridal tea, which was at the O. Henry hotel.  It was delicious and really fun!
Good food.
Group shot!
After the tea, we went to get manicures and pedicures, met up with Connor and Patrick at the hotel, and then went out to the church for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

The next day was the wedding!  The whole day was so perfect.  Laura did a fantastic job planning and so many details were just stellar.  Big fan of that wedding.

We got to the church around 10 and I got Connor and Patrick settled in the nursery and hung out with my girls.
Wearing the glasses Laura got us <3
Fun team forever.

After we took pictures, we tried to get Connor to take a nap.  He was begging for one!  We found a tiny bathroom that fit his tent in it, got him settled, and 10 minutes later he was up.  We were there, but I suspect someone tried to go into the bathroom (despite our signs), but he was fine and did well the rest of the day.

Bryan College reunion!
Sunday morning leaving was pretty funny.  We wanted to get on the road as quickly as possible since we knew it was an 8+ hour drive, but we also wanted to let Connor sleep as long as possible because he barely sleeps in the car.  He solved our dilemma by waking up just as Patrick brought up some breakfast for me.  I packed and Patrick ferried our bags down to the car, and Connor ate applesauce in the bath tub.

We are so happy to be home.  I'm tired of travelling!  I'm glad that we have two trips to Chattanooga planned for the weekend after Thanksgiving for Ella's birthday and for Christmas.  I'm glad I can focus on my house and Christmas presents!

Fall with Connor

So far this fall with Connor has been so much fun!  He likes going outside and playing in the leaves, and really likes the pumpkins I bought when we went to a local pumpkins farm.

Pretty pumpkins.
Did you know there are pumpkins shaped like mushrooms?  Yes!
Recently, when we (and by we I mean Patrick) raked some leaves, I kept Connor entertained on the front yard (which means I kept him from running into the road or messing up Patrick's piles too much). He was so cute!  I took a lot of pictures.
