The Beach!

Or as Connor would say, "Bea, bea!"

Connor and I were fortunate enough to tag along with Patrick on a business trip to Eglin Air Force Base near Fort Walton Beach.  Because of an awesome military discount, the government paid for a condo right on the beach!  There was plenty of room, so I invited my friend Jessica to come with us and ease the burden of having a rambunctious baby in a new place.  Patrick's co-worker David and his wife Holly also went on the trip.  They are the couple who we went to Disney World with while I was pregnant with Connor, so it was fun to take another Florida vacation with them!

We drove down on Sunday, which was cool because Patrick was able to claim those driving hours as work hours.  It was about a 6.5 hour trip and Connor did all right.  He has a hard time sleeping in the car though.  He has decided that he likes movies sometimes though, so it helped me from having to constantly entertain him.
Connor's so happy to be out of the car.  Also, he loved the
furniture because it was all low enough for him to climb onto.
We took Connor to the beach ASAP.
He's fearless!
On Monday, Patrick and David had to be at the Air Force base early in the morning.  We got up later and thought we would try the pool.  It was really rainy and gross so we didn't stay long.  I thought Connor would want to play forever, but a while into being at the pool he started asking to go "nugh-nught."  Kid loves his sleep.
Jessica was Connor's second mommy.

We didn't get to to the beach on Monday because of the rain, but Tuesday was a beautiful day!  I learned my lesson on Sunday and put Connor in his shirt and swim shorts.  He got so cold in only a swim diaper!  We went to the beach twice and Connor was thrilled both times.
Since I was the only parent, I didn't get to take a lot of pictures.
Trying to teach Jessica how to use her phone.
We were nervous that they would get all the testing done on the Air Force base on Tuesday and we would have to go home on Wednesday, but somehow a beautiful day on the beach was a rainy day on the base.  It was perfect!

On Wednesday Patrick and David had to work in the morning, and I was really tired, so we waited and all went to beach in the afternoon after Connor's nap.
Walking to the waves.
Whoa!
We got Connor to wear his hat on Tuesday afternoon when he realized how bright it was.  I was relieved his little noggin wasn't going to be all toasty.
Beach boys.
They are so cute.
