Austin Wedding

This past weekend, we Jemisons migrated to Austin, TX for Jenny's wedding!  We thought Eamon would do terribly in the car, and all the nursing breaks would make the drive even longer, so Eamon and I flew and Patrick, Connor, Happah, Nana, and Kevin drove in our van.  Eamon and I were supposed to fly out at 1 and meet my friend Katie in Houston.  She graciously said she would drive up the 3 hours to Austin so we could spend time with each other and that way we would only have one flight to contend with.  Unfortunately, my flight was cancelled, so we ended up waiting at the airport for the evening flight.  We ended up arriving at the hotel only a little while after the travelers in the van did!  It was great to see Katie, but I'm sad we didn't take any pictures together.

Friday we spent a little time hanging out at Jenny's venue, not being helpful because we were corralling children.  Since the kids had all gone to bed at 1-2 AM that night, we went back to the hotel to try and get them some sleep.  Connor fought sleep for an hour and a half.  He finally went to sleep at 3:30, along with all the rest of us!  Eamon fell asleep, and I decided to as well, then Patrick followed suit.  We woke up with enough time to get ready for the rehearsal dinner.
Riley exploring the booth.
Open bar y'all.
Loves these two.
Connor spent the whole time dipping
chips in water repeatedly.  Kept him quiet
and entertained.
Eamon slept a lot at the beginning, but
woke up to snuggle Aunt Jenny.
Cute boys.
Saturday morning we wanted to spend some time doing something in Austin, so we went with Kevin to the children's museum, called the Thinkery.  It was really fun, definitely some place I would go often if I lived there.  There were a lot of people there, so Connor was a little overwhelmed, but there was LOTS of water to play with, so he was pretty happy.
"1, 2, 3, go!"
He wanted ALL the ducks.
Taking the boys outside.
He collected these fun blocks (that were
meant for building dams) and threw them.

Hilarious family picture.
After the museum, we went to an area in the park next to the museum where there were some food trucks and had subs and empanadas.  At some point during the meal, Patrick told me that we were supposed to be at the wedding at 3:00, which is when Connor had gone to sleep for his nap the day before.  I thought Connor was going to at least get a 1.5 hours nap, but he only had time to lay down for an hour (in which he got nowhere close to sleep) before it was time to get ready.  He was in good spirits though, and very excited to see his family.
Handsome boys.
Pretty girl!

These light brite pellets were the best Connor distractor ever.

We skedaddled when the dancing started because Connor was wiped.  He passed out in the car and slept through me changing him out of his suit and into PJs and slept until 8 the next morning.  Patrick went back to the party and hung out until it was time to take Kevin to the airport for his very early flight back to Japan.  Patrick and Happah were the only ones who really got to say goodbye to Kevin.  Christmas can't come soon enough!

Sunday we packed up the car and went to Jenny's and Chris's house for a brunch before going our respective ways.  There was a LOT of excellent food and we were able to spend more time with Jenny's and Chris's friends, which was really nice.  Matt and Jessica left first and then Patrick, Connor, Happah, Nana, and Megan began their two day drive.  I stayed at the house until it was time for my flight out of Austin at 5.  Eamon was the belle of the brunch, charming everyone.  Little sweetheart.

I was told my many, many people how wonderful Eamon was at the airports and on the planes.  People helped me without asking, asked me if I needed help, and made sure I was all right constantly.  It was a great experience.  I sat next to 3 very nice ladies on my 3 flights and Eamon only got fussy on one of them.  Most of the time he was very content and slept well.  I even got to read a book!  We got home at 11:30 on Sunday night and spent Monday relaxing and waiting for Connor and Patrick to get home.  I'm still trying to get the house back in order, but I'm taking it easy too!  That was quite a trip!

We all miss our Jemison family and will be happy when Jessica and Matthew get to move to Chattanooga so we can see them more often, even though we will miss Megan when she moves to Austin to be with Jenny and Chris!
