Today we went as a family for Eamon's one month appointment. Patrick needed to check in with the doctor about his back pain and to make the day less complicated, we decided to skip Connor's nap, especially since he slept in for over an hour this morning. We had a nurse we hadn't seen before and she pronounced Eamon's name as "e-mon." However, she told us it's because she's married to man from the Caribbean (St.Vincent I think she said?) and that it is a really common name down there, but pronounced that way. I'm glad to know it's a common name somewhere other than Ireland!

My sweet Eamon continues to be a big guy. At birth, his head was 36.5 cm, he was 9 lbs, 6 oz, and 20.25 inches long. Today his head was 38 cm, he weighs 12 lbs, 6 oz, and is 23 inches long. His head is in the 50%, but the rest of him is 95%. At birth, Connor was 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 22 inches . At Connor's one month appointment he was 22.75 inches and 11 pounds. So Connor actually gained a little bit more weight in his first month, but Eamon got a LOT longer.
I took Connor to the doctor when I was 39 weeks pregnant with Eamon and he weighed 27 lb, 6 oz without his shoes. Today we weighed him (with shoes) and he was 29 lbs, 6oz! That makes me happy because he has barely been eating food since Eamon was born and nursing a lot. But he's obviously fine if he put on nearly 2 lbs in 7 weeks!
Eamon had his second Hepatitis B shot today and he knocked the needle out of his leg and
wailed afterwards. The nurse was the one who had given Connor the vast majority of his shots and we were both a little shocked because Connor has always not cared about shots. I guess I got spoiled by his high pain tolerance! I'm not looking forward to his next appointment because there are a lot of shots. Poor boy.
